Araucaria cunninghamii (Hoop pine)

Real Christmas Trees- start your family tradition this Christmas!

This stunning fast growing Hoop pine is native to Australia and can often be referred to as the Monarch of the Forest. This lofty majestic species is self-evident on the range tops of coastal and sub-coastal Queensland, NSW and even reaching as far as PNG. Here at Gilldora Grove Nursery we grow the Hoop pine as an advanced tree in 45L bags. These stunning fast growers have proved to be very popular among the acreage owners, with most trees sold before I can advertise them. Although they are VERY spiky to work with (I often have a rash after working with them) we’ll continue to grow them as they are one of our favourites.

Key features:

Fast growing evergreen, bird attracting, timber use.

They can reach heights of up to 30-50m, but this can take many decades. They are very rapid in their growth in the first 10 years, but then take time to mature.

Great to use as a feature tree, line a driveway, or simply create an avenue of them for shade.

Why not start your own family tradition and purchase one as a Christmas tree, then plant on your property after the festivities. A beautiful tradition for your family.
